The Northern Neck of Virginia is made up of many small villages
and communities, many with populations of just a few hundred people. It's
part of the charm of this special region of Chesapeake Bay Country. Here
are just a few of the communities.

Burgess
This community sits at the major crossroads between Northumberland
and Lancaster counties. It has a long history as a commercial area,
and continues that tradition today. |
| Callao
Often called "the gateway to Northumberland," Callao
is at the western edge of the county, welcoming visitors as they
arrive. It boast the county's only traffic signal! |

Irvington
Known as "the land of pleasant living," Irvington draws
new residents as well as visitors. All fall in love with this one-time
steamboat port. |
| Kilmarnock
The commercial center of the Northern Neck, Kilmarnock recently
celebrated its 75th anniversary as an incorporated town - but its
history is much longer. |

Reedville
"The town that fish built," Reedville is a center of
Menhaden fishing. This charming village is also the second largest
fishing port on the east coast of the United States! |

Stone
White Stone welcomes visitors as they cross the Rappahannock River
from the Middle Peninsula. It's a growing commercial center, with
the focus on fine food and antiques. |
