Preserve your art work with custom framing from CreekFever

CreekFever Custom Framing, with stores at 2 Main Street in Kilmarnock and 4562 West Richmond Road in Warsaw, inside Lipscombe furniture's two stores, has become the region's leading framing center for art and important memorabilia. Lipscombe acquired CreekFever Art and Framing in January 2002, greatly expanding its capabilities in that area.

“When we bought the company Ramona Hutton continued with the business, bringing with her an incredible amount of expertise,” said owner Bob Pinner. “Ramona worked at Ben Franklin in Kilmarnock and has been in the framing business for 13 or 14 years. She's highly skilled and has a great eye for art,” he added.

Pinner and Kilmarnock store manager Sandra Hudson have also completed industry training and are skilled at framing techniques, so that CreekFever can provide framing of all sizes, customized to meet each customer's needs. Pinner says there is a lot more to framing than style. A major function is preservation of the art work.

“When you buy a print, the paper will soon begin to absorb moisture, and over time this will form acid stains and cause permanent damage. When we frame an item we do it in such a way to prevent that absorption and that damage,” Pinner said.

It's important to frame an art work soon after purchasing it. Not only do you protect it from moisture, but dust and dirt as well.

“I can't tell you how many times customers have brought in an unframed print that has been under a bed or in the back of a closet for years. We can frame it so that some of the damage is hidden, but we can't undo the damage,” Pinner said.

CreekFever frames more than just artwork. The company handles almost any kind of keepsake, from athletic jerseys to baby shoes. Pinner said Hutton is especially skilled at framing needlework, one of the more challenging framing projects. The frames are made to reflect traditions as well as up-to-the-minute styles.

“We have one of the largest selection of moldings around, and we get in new moldings every couple of weeks,” he said.

If you're looking for something to go in a frame, CreekFever can help with that too. They offer works by local and regional artists, including John Barber, Franklin Saye, Mary Lou Troutman, John Shaw, Mary Lou Hann, Jean Carter, John MacLeod, Karin Andrews, and many others.

Whether you visit the Warsaw or Kilmarnock location, you can always find the skillful, helpful assistance at CreekFever, inside Lipscombe.  There's always great savings at CreekFever too, with sales featuring up to 50% off on professionally framed limited edition prints.
