Founding Fathers' dinner(11/18) Three very talented reenactors bring the events of June 20, 1790 to life. Jefferson hosted one of the most momentous dinner parties in U.S. history, one that would shape, and perhaps even save, the American republic. The dinner for Madison and Hamilton resulted in the Grand Compromise creating Washington, DC as our capital and allowing the federal government to assume state debt and become the chief taxing authority. This effectively strengthened the federal government and the rest is history. A reenactment dinner will be held Nov. 20 at the White Stone Events Center. The event, sponsored by Christ Church in Irvington, is sold out.Westmoreland Museum windows(11/18) Westmoreland Museum is raising money in a novel way. It's "selling" windows in its building to pay for their replacement. So far the Museum has sold 20 windows and has nine left. Those who purchase one for $350 will get a brass plaque on the new window, a permanent reminder of their support. Send your contributions to Westmoreland County Museum – Windows – P.O. Box 247 – Montross, VA 22520. Potomac Supply finds buyer(11/17) Potomac Supply in Westmoreland County will continue to operate as a Northern Neck lumber yard, under an agreement approved in Federal Bankruptcy Court in Richmond last week.
